As many of you know i spend my summer holidays in Ischia but I wanted to tell you about a place very dear to me: the Amalfi Coast.
The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in the province of Salerno in Campania. Located east of the Sorrento Peninsula, it faces the Gulf of Salerno and stretches from Positano to Vietri sul Mare for a distance of about 20KM and a total of 20 municipalities. Whether you're a history buff, an adventure seeker, a food lover, or simply someone in search of a serene getaway, the Amalfi Coast has something to offer everyone

The area was once a powerful maritime republic, with the town of Amalfi at its heart. In the 9th and 10th centuries, Amalfi was a major trading hub, with a strong influence on Mediterranean trade routes. Today, remnants of its glorious past can be seen in its medieval architecture, such as the stunning Amalfi Cathedral and the Arsenal of the Maritime Republic.
The Amalfi Coast is also famous for its craftsmanship and traditional arts. The town of Ravello, for example, is renowned for its exquisite ceramics, while Positano is known for its fashionable boutiques and handmade sandals. Throughout the region, you'll find local artisans preserving age-old techniques, producing unique and beautiful works of art. Immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting workshops and galleries, where you can witness the italian.

The Amalfi Coast boasts a plethora of attractions and landmarks that will leave you spellbound. One of these is Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, a historic mansion with magnificent gardens that offer sweeping views of the coast. Another place to visit is the town of Positano, with its colorful houses cascading down the cliffs.
Another town not to be missed is Sorrento, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples. Known for its citrus groves and the production of limoncello, a liqueur made from its lemons.
No trip to the Amalfi Coast would be complete without a visit to its pristine beaches and hidden coves. One of the most famous beaches is Positano's Spiaggia Grande or, for a more secluded experience, head to Furore, a small village nestled in a fjord. Its beach, known as Fiordo di Furore, is a hidden gem surrounded by towering cliffs. This stretch of coastline offers a plethora of outdoor activities and adventure opportunities for the more adventurous traveler.
Hikers will be thrilled with the renowned Path of the Gods, a trail that winds along the cliffs, offering breathtaking views of the coastline. Alternatively, you can embark on a boat tour and discover the hidden gems of the Amalfi Coast, such as the stunning Emerald Grotto, a sea cave filled with mesmerizing blue-green waters.
Like many of the places close to Naples, it is a food lover's paradise with its rich culinary traditions and exquisite flavors such as lemons, tomatoes and olive oil, limoncello and sfogliatella, a traditional pastry filled with sweet ricotta cheese and flavored with orange blossom water.
In my personal opinion, the Amalfi Coast is a place that will forever occupy a special place in your heart, just as it did for me. I am certain that your trip will generate unforgettable memories, if only by smelling the scent of a generous lemon or Mediterranean pine tree.
Best regards,
Luca
